Hi this is Mack Lovvorn,
What a great mission time . Today we went to the beach along with the kids from Hogar. The water was wonderfully blue and warm but the best part is the interaction between the youth from CUMC and the children from Hogar. It has been a super experience for me personally. I have seen God at work in so many ways. The youth are able to reach out in love and openness. The kids from the community in spite of their poverty, know God's love and return it to those around. It is a joy being a part of this work experience with other caring adults and youth.

Hey it's Cari reporting for blogging duty! Well, pretty much Mexico is super mega ultra crazy hot and humid. I don't think that I have sweat this much in my life. I feel like it was the most hot during the days of construction work, but that could be the fact that Mary and I were in the back of a building(one of the hottest places in Hogar De Ninos) repainting a very worn looking Salvation Army sign. It pretty much looks amazing, not to brag or anything. Actually, the whole place has transformed since we've been here. It's amazing what a new coat of paint can do for a building. This place looks great and I'm super happy that I can say that I helped make it this way. Since we finished all the construction, for the most part, in the first five days , we've had time to engage in some more enjoyable activities. Today we went to la playa (the beach) it was fun to swim in the nice warm water and just lay in the sun. However, it was kinda jellyfish city. Five americanos got stung, and two of the kids from Hogar De Ninos got stung. I think Catherine had one of the most interesting experiences. She had a jelly wrapped around her leg for about five minutes while David was tending to other jelly victims. All in all, I've had a pretty awesome experience, and when it comes time I know I'm not going to want to leave.
