Today Cari and I worked on the Hogar de Ninos sign in the back of the dining hall. This is the second day we've been painting this sign. Yesterday Carmen wanted to paint with us so we gave her a shirt and a paint brush. I don't think she stayed in the lines very much but it was worth being able to spend time with her. She followed us everywhere. We finished the sign today with a few more spots of black, but the only black we have is oil based. I refuse to use oil based paint any more. Yesterday Cari and I were starting to paint the wash room, and wile we got chased by a cat I succsessfully tipped over a paint can into the sink. The paint got all over everything, we were cleaning for a long time. Today after we got done with the sign we had lunch, and hung out for a while. We ended up taking the kids back home, which was really sad, we all miss having them around. I think 11 of us decided it would be a good idea to ride in the back of the truck, I think this might of been our worst idea yet. It was super hot, and super cramped, everyone got sunburns. Although some of the homes were diffirent then i would think. The poverty level seem too be kinda high in the a few of the areas we went to. Like more people than you would think were living in cardboard houses, or in paper bags. It blows my mind how you would have to live in order to keep your children safe and alive, it only makes me give them more kudos. Even with the conditions it seems like the ones that have the least are the happiest. It makes me apriciate what I have.
